Simple Life’s Work Would Better!!

            Based on my understanding, life's work could be something or responsibilities which we must accomplish during our life time. If you want me to list out the must-do list in my life. That would not more than 3 items. Those are education, family and career. You may not agree with me because there could be hundreds in the items, I only mentioned the category of the items list. In my opinions, how good you can categorize the items list, how good you can living out your life.

            Education is the learning process to nurture human. In more specific, education is a tool which provides people with knowledge, skill, technique, information, enables them to know their rights and duties toward their family, society as well as the nation. It expands people's vision and outlook to see the world. It develops the capabilities to fight against injustice, violence, corruption and many other bad elements in the society. Since we were young, we have gone through a lot of learning process either formally or informally, this might include the parenting in home. Parenting instill the moral value into our mind in order to be a good human being. School teacher are teaching us the necessary skills and knowledge that is the main criteria to obtain a job, Some other might attend more classes or courses such as dancing class, music class, and so on to well equipped themselves in every way possible. Education plays its role in the modern and industrialized world. People need a good education to be able to survive in this competitive world. Giving up education does mean give up living. People  must realize the importance of education. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us. It develops in  us a perspective of looking at life. It is the most important element in the evolution of the nation. Without education, citizen will not explore new ideas. It means citizen will not able to develop the world because there is no creativity to stimulate any new development of the nation.

            Life would be tedious if talking about life's work only focus on learning. Why families are important to individuals, there are a number of reasons. The definition of family is one that seems to change with times, but it usually includes a group of people related to each other and living together. Family is important to individuals because it provides benefits to your physical, emotional and mental health that can't be found anywhere else. Getting a girlfriend before you establish your own family is the first step. It is like as soon as you leave school, there is no easy way to find a girlfriend. Meeting women can be a challenge and creating a connection that leads to a relationship nearly impossible. Going through life without ever having a partner could be very depress to each of you, however, these all are just the worsen assumptions to suffer if possible. Try your best to find a girlfriend and get marry as soon as possible. Marriage is the beginning, the beginning of the family and is a life-long commitment. It also provides an opportunity to grow in selflessness as you serve your wife and children. When a marriage produces a child. It is one of the greatest blessings. When children are raised in a healthy marriage, they get a front row seat to see and experience the lasting benefits of a strong family. It is your turn to pick up the parenting role for your children.

            Career is the main topic in life's work. Without it, it could be living in a world with no taste and feeling. How you build up your career is your first step after graduating from University. Learning what you doing, doing what you learning. Since most of our time are spent either at work, travelling to and from work, or thinking about work, it is inevitably plays a huge role in our lives. if you feel bored or unsatisfied with how you spend large parts of the day, it can takes a serious toll on your physical and mental health. You may feel burned out and frustrated, anxious, depressed or unable to enjoy time at home knowing that another workday lies ahead. Having to concentrate for a long periods on tasks you find mundane, repetitive or unsatisfying can cause high levels of stress. What is more, if you don't find your work meaningful and rewarding, it is hard to generate the effort and enthusiasm necessary to advance in your job or career. As well as feeling happy and satisfied, you are far more likely to achieve success in an occupation that you feel passionate about.

            Life could this easy, if you willing. Need not much of things to afford it, but passionate about your life is the initial step and forever step to complete you life's work. Just try it and dont easily give up. It could be happiness as you expected.

 

Languages One, Two, Three

                If you ask that where I came from? I would only tell you that my Grandpa from Guanzhou, LongGang, HaHang. Their mother tongue is Xinning Toishan Hua. Somewhere few thousand miles away from South East Asia. But, we are very familiar with it, because there are our origin. Different race are using their language in their country. Here I try to introduce the language I use in my career. As a software engineer, I know a lot machine level language to communicate with computer. The difference between human conversation and human-computer interaction is I am the only commander in dealing with computer interaction process. Human conversation is unique which could encompass the feeling of human in each word we say. Okay, learning a single language could be easier, but master multiple language could be tougher for each of us in life. In Malaysia, Chinese with no exception.

                As Malaysian Chinese, we learn a lot of language in our whole life. In family, we use our mother tongue to converse with our family member. In primary school, we use Mandarin language in our learning. In secondary school, we start to use fully Malay language to educate the youths. In tertiary education, students are using English in the syllabus to learn each subject. This sound like stupidity of learner, because we learn something in each level is not for the purpose of continuity in the next level. But, each level is higher level than before for every students to pursue their educations. When language is the basis in learning some knowledge, changing in each step would be a disadvantage for students in understanding and using the language itself. This is obvious see when there are a lot of people simply cannot speak properly to explain something, even using their mother tongue. They only could speak simple words for explanations due to they haven't master fully the skills of that languages. They are not genius like what people always say that to know a lot of languages, they are just not a good learner to learn something. How many people could really master the skills of each languages before they declare themselves as Languages Genius. I can say that there are very less. The Japanese using Japan language from young until old, they can speak proper language in every situations. It is the same in China, even though they haven't own any degree and professional knowledge.

                I have planned for the next generation. In Malaysia, we have the right to learn Mandarin. We must appreciate it and don't take it for granted. The six years formal education in Mandarin language must be the minimum for you to learn Mandarin language, it is not all, you must not discard it after six years primary education. You must find your own way to continue to learn Mandarin language, this mean that you all must take the subject of Mandarin in the PMR and SPM public examinations. This is the good way to motive you to learn it. More than 1 billion people are speaking Mandarin in the world, learning it would only bring you a more bright future. Mandarin is a widely use language, in education, art, sciences, entertainment and so on. This mean that you have a broaden opportunities to learn other things.

                The most important is learning English languages. This is the best language to use in your tertiary education, it is because English is the pioneer in the sciences and technology. There are a lot of resources we can find are written in English, learning English is really save you a lot of time in your learning process without need any language translator tool. You also have better employment opportunities, by learning English. Watch employment opportunity doors open for you once you have learnt the English language. The better employment opportunities in turn have a knock on effect of higher salaries. English speaking people are in high demand at corporate global companies. It may likely also increase opportunity within your existing company. Approximately half of the world's business websites are also written in English language. English is the language of science, of aviation, computers, diplomacy and tourism.

                The other benefits of learning English might be memory improvement and improves listening  skills. It is fact that no matter what age one is, that learning a second language improves brain functionality. Every single brain changes with age, case studies show results that people who know more than one language have a longer attention span and perform better on attention tests. English is one of the easiest languages to learn with its simple alphabet. Once English is mastered you will have developed abilities and practices that you did not have before. These skills will transfer to any other language that you learn.

The 4 Disciplines of Execution

                 I have just finished reading a book about management. The title of this book is "The 4 Disciplines of Execution". In big corporate, normally manager has the execution power to monitor anything inside the corporate. To be a manager or damager, completely depend on how he exert his power of intelligence. To simplify the disciplines we are going to learn now, I try to use a few and simple words to explain its long story.

                First, only focus on important mission. The workload of a manager normally are enough to suffocate and bury themselves under heavy tasks. There are impossible to cope with any pieces of its without considering the limitation of resources you have. Those all limited you might be include limitation of only 24 hour a day, limited budget allocation on project, large scope of project may require high surveillance and guidance from manager. You could not tolerate with these because these all are the main necessary requirement to achieve and success. Only focus on important matter is the smart ways to handle it, you should know how to prioritize your all the items in the To-Do list. "One at a time", we are normal human who are designed to be able to work on one thing at a time and excel at it. We are not designed to multi-task. Our brains are designed to only truly focus on one thing at a time. If you try to pick up more "focus point" , you vision become blurry and nothing will get your full attentions. Narrowing your focus is going to yield better results. Manager must be aware of core priorities and identify the ones that need your attention the most. To be able to acknowledging issues and recognizing opportunities is good and beneficial, it doesn't mean you need to try and split your attention between all of these things at one time.

                Second, apply majority of your time, energy and resources to the activities that drive you to achieving defined goal. Identify the tasks and action that are most likely to help you to reach the goal. Don't waste your time on doing something useless. You must know that how to allocate your time, energy and resources to deal with each project accordingly. Lag measures is defined as an indicator of when you have achieved the goal. Lead measures will indicator of likelihood of you reaching the goal. Lead measures are predictive and entirely within your control, and at any point, if you are informed that you are unlikely to reach your goal, you can do something about it. Don't count the chicken haven't hatched. Leaders must spend the majority of their energy focusing on the lead measures and forgo the importance of lag measure. The leverage is the key principle behind the good lead measures. Without leverage, you won't be able to move forward despite your best efforts. Effort simply is not enough, but measures act as levear to give you ability to move forward and reach the goals.

                Thirdly, leader must keep a scoreboard. It is important to be able to visually see the score. Scoreboard need to be clear and outline the data in a simple and easy to understand way. It can be  motivate you team. You must know how far you are still distance away from the goal. How much effort you still need to speed up your progress to achieve corporate goals. The real time analyzing results from scoreboard sometimes could be help a manager to make a million dollar decision at a glance of time. Digitization and computerization the whole management process will be an ideal solution to keep you always up to date information. The scoreboard might be a sight you are reluctant to see from time to time in a day, but the concepts of feeling as if impossible to win and escape, is one of the most demoralizing for all. The importance of team morale being as high as possible, everyone should be playing to win, not simply playing to survive and get through the day. Result drive engagement with high spirits. When a team can identify their action as having significant impact on the result, then their engagement is going to soar. Scoreboards can be a powerful way to engage employees. A scoreboard not only drives results but uses the visible power of progress to instill the mindset of winning.

                Fourthly, create a accountability. The book emphasizes the importance of having a consistent way to track past performance and plan for future. It is designed to bring teams together and help team to operate at a top level with significant accountability. The lacks of accountability will find people losing focus, getting distracted and disagreements over what is really important. Regular meeting is the way to achieve this where team members can share their opinions and advices to the case. These meetings are designed to hold each team member accountable for their dedicated tasks, all with the aim of moving the lead measures. SWOT concept could be adopted to analyze the results from your projects. have a clear agenda, start with brief report on commitments, identifying successes and failures. Use time to troubleshoot the problems, and discuss how you all can overcome these. Finally, plan the new commitments and directions.

                Conclusion, I hope that these 4 simple disciplines can provide us a clear and simple guidance in our management. I know that it is easier to say than do especially, every problem and condition are unique to solution we seeking for. Most you are blurry in the uncertainty, most simple ways are the best to kill barrier.

                This is not a new issue, and it is a global issue we are facing in the new wave of globalization. The economic effect from globalization could be many, I personally more emphasized the focus on unemployment because I am always the victims from it. Economic recession caused to high unemployment  rate or high unemployment rate caused to economic going downhill.  Sometimes, it would be the question of "Chicken come first or egg come first?" To simply it by my own way, both of it are obviously correlated. People should not be naive to think optimism about it, because it does not mean they would mutually offset each other effects. Every effect on either side would only intensify the bad effect on the other side. For example, high unemployment would only undermine  the economic condition to become chronic, ,meanwhile poor economic condition would only cause more job opportunities disappear. 

                Economic development is the only way to create more job opportunity in this new industrialization era. It is always right and precise. This can be done through private sector and public sector. In public sector, infrastructure and facilities establishment would increase the government expenses to stimulate the economic, this would increase the confident of investors on the market. In private sector, manufacturing, services, telecommunication, and so on, act consistently to coordinate with the economic trendy to increase their investment. These all would generate more job opportunities for the people.

                For many person, economic is a monopoly game for capitalist to reap huge profits. In my own view, it should be a process to systematically allocate wealth. Certainly, high risk would high return and high commitment would high rewards.  Nothing would come for free. Each economic player has its own evaluation and speculation on the markets. The only mission is the profits. How good the government manage the economic depend on how smart they play the game. They should play their role to bridge the gap between poor and rich, it should not let the strike from bad economic conditions impacting the employment rate.  Low employment rate would only widen the gap in between rich and poor.

                However, the real scenario is always sadden. Capitalism would not sympathy on you because you are poor. Capitalism is greed and selfish because profit is the only core mission for each corporate in order to continue on next game in the economic.  Capitalist normally keep their umbrella when raining during the economic recession to reduce the risk on corporate. This mean there are a wave of lay off subsequently after the rain start. In good economic condition, we still could not get any benefits because the greed of capitalist would cut expense to improve figures in their cost managements. We are always slashed in any economic conditions. Therefore, the unwillingness of sharing corporate success fruits is another main reason to cause high unemployment rate.

                In a developing country, we need a lot of high-skilled employees to develop high-tech industry. In order to achieve this target, a lot of government policy are being implemented to fit in this need accordingly, especially the education system. A lot of students succeed to access their tertiary educations over the past few decades. It is a good phenomenon but quality is more important than quantity in any cases.  Many graduated students are not on the par with high qualification. In a high competitive job market, we cannot see any value from the degree you have.

                More than millions people are unemployed and staying at home to waste time. There are no absolute solution to solve this issue especially this issue has been politicized and polarized. Bad or good are certainly just because we bear the risk to play the game. In my opinions, we must fixate at one side that the all the sources derive from employment , which result in the economic effect. Let generate more job opportunities to create a great economic effects.

Help Me, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China

            I have been waiting for 28 months since the last time I have missed the golden chance to escape from a country full of racism culture and policy. Due to my family problem that my mother had an eye cataract surgery, she needed my surveillance at home before fully recovery. After she recovered, I tried again to find another survival opportunity in Singapore. Unfortunately, the whole world is blanketed with the horror of COVID-19 pandemic. All the major cities around the world are lockdown until now, including Malaysia and Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China

            I am facing the most critical moment in my life now. All the problems I am facing now range from racist bullies, political suppression, gangster intimidation, Capitalist oppression and so on. I am living with my family in a small Malay housing area where my parents bought this house since 30 years ago.  In my daily life, racism threats have become part of my life. Every day, Malays would close to my house and abuse my family. In my neighborhood, most Malays are government servants. After they have succeeded in their career and transferred to another better place, then some Malays from rural areas would come into this area because of cheaper housing prices for old houses. Chinese citizens are just the minority here and they are conducting some illegal activity to meet their monthly end needs, for example, money laundering and some gangsters activities.

            When the youths grow and marry, they are influenced by the poor environment and bad culture in this neighborhood. Personal desires affect them and make them prone to become critical. In the past, the main enemy for the government official was the criminal, but nowadays, the main enemies are their close friends and relatives. Pandemic has caused the unstable political condition to become chronic. Youths are using critical ways for their own purpose. For example, youths put some snakes into Chinese houses, especially me, to force and threaten them transfer because they are not able to buy new houses which are very expensive in the city. Recently, they have warned us that they would break into Chinese family and rob our wealth. They also intimated me that they are trying to steal my car to force me to waste money to buy a new car. My family just can helplessly wait the time for another crime to happen upon us.

            I was born in a poor family. My father and mother are just low income employees with RM 400-RM500 monthly income and have no much savings. They have retired since 20 years ago. I have 4 sisters in my family. My second elder sister has psychology and mental problems, she has never worked after secondary school. Now she is 44 years old. The other three sisters are just ordinary workers in the city. All 3 of them graduated from University and still have not married. Because of poor economic conditions in this country, 3 of them are bundled together under a mortgage loan to buy a house in order to maintain and save their career in their respective company. I am the youngest son who always expects to change my family's fate. Every time I have gotten a job, they would force me and persuade me to buy a house to save a job, or I am forced to give way to native if I am reluctant to follow their instructions. No matter how hard I struggle in my life, career, study, I am just defeated by the unstable political condition due to racism policy implementation in this country.

            I have suffered enough of the mentality torture from racism policy  for 38 years. I do not have a chance to survive in this country, the future is blank for Chinese in this country. I  personally have given up everything in this country. I hope that Chinese Community can give me a chance to change my life and improve my life. Just humanitarian help to assist me to survive. Give me hope in my life.
